Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the MatchMinds website and web application published at matchminds.ch (including linked public flows). Third-party services (for example authentication providers) may be subject to their own accessibility properties; where they limit what we can change, we describe that briefly below.

OUR COMMITMENT

We want MatchMinds to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, or high-contrast settings. We recognise that we have not yet implemented a full accessibility programme; this statement describes our intent, our target standard, known gaps, and how to report problems.

CONFORMANCE STATUS

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, conformance level AA, as our target (see https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/). At present, MatchMinds only partially meets these requirements. “Partial conformance” means that a number of barriers remain and some success criteria are not yet satisfied.

This status is based in part on a structured review using ETH Zurich’ s checklist, which sampled key pages and flows.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS (SUMMARY)

The following areas are among those where improvements are still needed or were flagged in review. This is not an exhaustive list of every WCAG criterion.

• Non-text content: Some images and logos lack appropriate alternative text, or the text does not match the purpose of the image (for example partner logos or portrait images).

• Headings and semantics: Heading levels and document structure do not always follow a logical outline; some text is marked up as headings when it functions as body copy. Some visually list-like content is not exposed as proper lists to assistive technologies.

• Keyboard operation and focus: Not all interactive components are fully usable without a pointing device. Examples raised in review include at least one accordion section that does not open via keyboard, and an institutional login control that could not be reached with the keyboard alone. The cookie banner is reachable by keyboard but appears too late in the tab order. A “skip to main content” link is missing.

• Visible focus: Keyboard focus is not consistently visible (for example on some navigation controls).

• Zoom and reflow: At strong magnification (for example around 400%), parts of the navigation may be clipped or difficult to reach, which can block access to some areas of the site.

• Contrast: Some navigation elements have insufficient colour contrast relative to WCAG AA expectations.

• Other WCAG topics: The checklist also covers areas such as link wording, page titles, forms, tables, and time-based media (subtitles, transcripts, audio description). We have not yet verified full conformance across the product in all of these areas; gaps may remain.

ONGOING IMPROVEMENT

We are prioritising remediation of the issues identified in review and will update this statement as material changes are made. Where an immediate fix is not possible, we will consider reasonable alternatives (for example support channels) where appropriate.

COMPATIBILITY AND ENVIRONMENTS

MatchMinds is implemented with standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript; WAI-ARIA may be used where appropriate). Actual accessibility depends on the combination of browser, operating system, and assistive technology (for example current versions of NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver). Because of the limitations above, some combinations may still encounter barriers.
